Effective Management

Monroe County Red Cross Chapter maintains a small, knowledgeable staff to recruit, train and retain a devoted group of approximately 200 service delivery and governance volunteers. The executive director, Sue Gulley, has been a non-profit administrator for twenty-five years, and is experienced in managing community-based services and collaborating with community partners for effective service delivery.

Seven full-time staff, four part-time staff and nearly 300 volunteers work together, training and conducting drills regularly to build response capacity. Cross training with different departments and alongside some of our community partners improves our efficiency and response time. Volunteer leaders also serve as directors and officers with state and national disaster relief organizations to bring the latest information and training back to other volunteers for the benefit of our community.
