Annual Book Fair
The 25th anniversary of the annual Red Cross Book Fair will be held October 2-7, 2008 at the Monroe County Fairgrounds, Commercial Building West. Donations of used books, magazines, DVDs, videos, LPs, CDs, cassette tapes, maps, games, puzzles, and sheet music can be brought to Red Cross (411 E. 7th Street) on any work day. These items are collected throughout the year, categorized, and marked with bargain prices for the October event.
This year we are asking especially for donations of children's books, games and puzzles, which are very popular at our annual fair.
The book fair is the Monroe County Chapter’s biggest annual fundraiser, accounting for most of the chapter’s yearly income. We are currently seeking book fair volunteers to help with the following tasks:

Borders Drop-off - April 19 Borders Books & Music and WFIU are hosting a book drop-off to benefit the Monroe County Chapter of the American Red Cross on Saturday, April 19 from 9:00am – 12:00 noon in front of Borders, 2634 E. 3rd St. The Red Cross is collecting used books, CDs, LPs, tapes, maps, sheet music, games and puzzles for its annual Book Fair to be held this year on October 2-7, 2008. Donors are asked to please bring items in boxes if possible. To celebrate our 25th Anniversary of the Red Cross Book Fair we are offering our commemorative book bag at the Drop-off and at the Chapter House for only $5.00. |
