As disaster volunteers continue to assist Hoosiers who have been forced from their homes because of severe flooding, the American Red Cross has activated its 1-866-GET –INFO hotline.

American Redcross Activates Its 1-866-GET-INFO Hotline

Indianapolis, June 08, 2008 - As disaster volunteers continue to assist Hoosiers who have been forced from their homes because of severe flooding, the American Red Cross has activated its 1-866-GET –INFO hotline, which connects callers to a Red Cross response center where volunteers provide information including shelter locations and other vital information.

Brown County: Brown County YMCA, 105 Willow Street, Nashville, IN  

Bartholomew County: Northside Middle School, 1400 27th St., Columbus, IN

Bartholomew County: Columbus North High School, 1400 E. 25th St., Columbus, IN

Owen County: Spencer Elementary, 151 E Hillside Ave, Spencer, IN

Vigo County: North High School, 3434 Maple Ave, Terre Haute, IN

Jackson County: Seymour Middle School, 920 N. O’Brien, Seymour, IN (NEW SHELTER)

Jackson County: Brownstown Middle School, 520 W. Walnut St., Brownston, IN (NEW SHELTER)

Jackson County: Medora Conservation Club, Medora, IN (NEW SHELTER)

All American Red Cross disaster assistance is free, made possible by voluntary donations of time and money from the American people. You can help the victims of thousands of disasters across the country each year, disasters like the Central Indiana Tornadoes and Floods, by making a financial gift to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, which enables the Red Cross to provide shelter, food, counseling and other assistance to victims of disaster. The American Red Cross honors donor intent. If you wish to designate your donation to a specific disaster, please do so at the time of your donation. Contributions to the Disaster Relief Fund may be sent to the American Red Cross of Greater Indianapolis at 441 E. 10th St., Indianapolis, IN 46202-3388 or to your local Red Cross chapter. Contributions can also be made by calling (317) 684-1441 or by visiting www.redcross-indy.org/donate.
