What does the Red Cross do with money raised?
Funds will be used to support the critical mission activities and services of the Red Cross. Our Red Cross chapter provides:
Services to Armed Forces: We provide communication services between military members and their families 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year.
Disaster Response: We are prepared to provide immediate emergency assistance to people affected by disasters such as house fires, tornadoes, floods, or chemical spills. Emergency assistance is always offered free of charge and includes vouchers for immediate shelter, food, clothing, basic household items, or vital medication. Clients’ needs are served on a case-by-case basis.
Disaster Preparedness Education: We work to provide educational materials to various groups, schools, agencies, and community members which will help them prevent and prepare for various disaster situations.
Health, Safety, and Community Education: We are committed to keeping people safe at home and in the workplace by teaching various education and safety courses every month. We offer first aid training, CPR, AED, lifeguard training, and other courses that teach people life-saving skills. We participate in health fairs throughout the year to inform the community of health-related safety tips.
